ABC (AIDS-free Birthright for Children) is potentially a worldwide project for Rotary International. The project proposes that Rotary International will provide the infrastructure and medicines to prevent children being born with HIV/AIDS, using the model of Polio-Plus.

Mission Statement for ABC:

• Objective: To ensure that children born of HIV/AIDS positive mothers are free from infection.
• Method: To manage mother and child at the time of Birth so that the child is born free from infection.
• Outcome: Children will be born free of infection and enable them to be further protected by programmes already in place.

The heart of the project is children who are born with a condition over which they have no control and for which no blame can be attached to the child, but from which there is no escape, once infected.
